The playoffs essentially start Friday night for the Riverton Wolverine Football team. They will go on he road to play Wheatland for the first time in almost a decade with a playoff bid on the line.
Riverton has 2 conference wins, Wheatland has one. Torrington has two as well. So, If Riverton should win, they would be the #3 seed as they would have the tie breaker against Torrington (if they should win Friday) and Wheatland would be out with their one conference win.
Torrington faces #1 ranked and unbeaten Douglas.
If Riverton were to lose to Wheatland and Douglas beats Torrington, that would cause a three way tie for the final spots. Since they all beat each other, it would come down to the best overall record which would go to Torrington. Then, Wheatland would have the head to head advantage over RHS. That would end the season for Riverton.
As for opponents in the playoffs, the #3 seed (Riverton if they win Friday) would go to either Worland or Star Valley in the first round. The #4 seed would go to either Worland, Cody, or Star Valley. Worland and Cody play each other on Friday. SV hosts Jackson.
Catch the action from Wheatland on Friday. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:25 with the kick off slated for 7 pm. John Gabrielsen and Joel Kindle will have the call.
