Farmington proved to be too much of a challenge as the Lady Scorpions ended the Lady Coyote season 7 - 0.
After winning their opening game in the tournament over Aztec 5 - 4, the Lady Coyotes bated were silenced, first by Artesia, then by Farmington. Roswell failed to score in their final 14 tournament innings.
Farmington eventually lost to tournament runner-up Silver.
The Lady Coyotes came from behind in game 1 of the state Softball tournament in Las Cruces. Down 4 to 2, Roswell took a 5 - 4 lead and held on to advance.
In game two, the Lady Coyotes met their district foe Artesia and played the game of the year. Lindsey Dubiel led off the game with a single, then advanced to second on a bunt by Jessica Zamora. When the Artesia throw to second went into the outfield, Dubiel rounded third and tried to score only to be thrown out at the plate. That was as close as Roswell would get to score.
Artesia pushed a run across in the bottom of the 6th and made it stick for the win.

The state 4A Baseball Tournament ended for the Roswell Coyotes on Saturday as the Albuquerque Academy Chargers beat Roswell High twice.
The #2 seed Chargers won game one Friday night 16 to 1. On Saturday the #15 seed Coyotes gave it their all losing by only one run 6 to 5.
#7 seed Goddard was also eliminated by #10 seed Deming in 2 ... losing 13 to 3 on Friday and 7 to 6 on Saturday in Deming.
#1 seed Artesia swept past #16 seed Aztec 13 to 2 and 12 to 2.
The Roswell Coyotes were selected to be the state 4A Baseball tournament as a #15 seed. First action would be at Albuquerque Academy.
However, due to concerns over the spread of swine flu, the NMAA suspended all activities until further notice. Officials hope the delay is only one week.

The Roswell Coyotes are the New Mexico Boys 4A Champions defeating district rival Artesia 59 to 50 before a huge crowd at The Pit in Albuquerque.
The game was close through three quarters, but the Coyotes zone defense around Artesia's Derek Montoya and Dallas Bollema prevented the Bulldogs from keeping pace. Once Roswell got to a double-digit lead, the Bulldogs were forced to throw up three's and foul in an effort to try and close the gap.
The Roswell Coyotes and Lady Coyotes will play for championships in Albuquerque at the State Basketball Tournament. They will face District 4-4A foe Artesia, who advanced after a 58 to 56 Triple-Overtime victory over Espanola Valley.
On Thursday, the girls advanced to the title game after beating Moriarty 38 to 36.
Also on Thursday, the boys advanced by defeating Deming 69 to 64.
The Girls Title game is Friday night at 8:00pm. Roswell will face #1 seeded St. Pius X.
The Boys Title game is Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm. The opponet will either be Artesia or Espanola Valley.

The Roswell Coyotes built up a big lead and coasted to a 61 to 46 victory over Albuquerque Academy in the Quarter-Finals of the State 4A Basketball Playoffs at The Pit in Albuquerque.
The Coyotes will face #2 seeded Deming in the Semi-finals at 3pm on Thursday. The Artesia Bulldogs are in the other Semi-Final game on Thursday.

The Roswell Lady Coyotes won their Quarterfinal game in the State 4A Playoffs in Albuquerque, defeating Belen 46 to 38.
Shanice Steenholdt led the Lady Coyotes with 16 points. Chantale Riddle was also in double figures with 10 points.
Roswell will face either #3 Moriarty or #6 Shiprock in the Semi-Final game Thursday at 9:45am.
